Hello, and welcome to Let’s Brew Coffee!

We are so glad you’re here.

Hi! My name is Neal Drown, and if you’ve landed on this page chances are we share at least one thing in common, we both LOVE coffee!

After proudly wearing the label of “coffee enthusiast” for well over a decade, I decided to create Let’s Brew Coffee to help other people like me discover the complex, beautiful, constant yet ever-changing world of coffee.

I’ve been a fan of coffee for as long as I can remember, but my real passion began in 2010.

I had just spent the last 14 months in Liverpool, UK earning my M.A. in Research, and had been exposed and entrenched in English tea culture (shh, don’t tell).

That’s when I decided to jump on a Columbus replica ship and sail around the Eastern U.S. for nine months. When you’re stuck out at sea for days at a time, brewing a delicate cup of tea was not an option. Coffee (often instant) is what got me through the long nights on deck. Needless to say, I became very fond of (if not dependent on) coffee and quickly abandoned my tea habit.

While I enjoyed my watered down black coffee served out of a shared Stanley thermos, when I got off the ships I craved a more refined cup.

That’s where the researcher in me kicked in. What’s the best way to prepare coffee? Where do the best beans come from? Do you really need all that expensive equipment, and if so which do you choose? You get the idea.

While I do not claim to be a certified barista, I have spent years exploring coffee and all it has to offer. Our goal with Let’s Brew Coffee is to use first-hand experience, coupled with exhaustive research to provide readers with the very best information available about coffee and its culture.

It is our sincere hope that the articles and guides you’ll read here will help you not only to make better informed decisions when making your next coffee or equipment purchase, but they will help grow your passion and enthusiasm for the drink we both LOVE.
